Servus! Greetings from Bavaria!

Hi from Munich, Germany! I am spending my winter semester 24-25 here in Munich, studying in Hochschule München (HM). So far I have met some amazing people, learned a lot about the local culture and gained some unforgettable memories.

My studies here are a mixture of culture and intercultural communication, marketing, and engineering. Most of my lectures are held at the Uni, so during the week I went there almost daily.

On my spare time here in Munich I spend time with my new friends and roommates. Being somewhat active person, I also do sports such as jogging, spinning and group exercise classes. I also enjoy some travelling and hiking. I participated different kinds of events organized by HM’s International Club. And since I’m living in Munich, I obviously visited Oktoberfest, where the picture above is taken.

Studying in HM is mainly similar to studying in TAMK, but some of the courses are so called block courses. This means, the lectures aren’t divided evenly throughout the semester, but one course can consist for example three full days of lectures and an exam. Also in general I feel like the lectures are a bit longer here than in TAMK, but are maybe smaller in number of students.

On the end note I have to say that school lunches in TAMK are better for sure – Universities in Finland offer food that has excellent price-quality ratio. I never really caught a routine to have lunch at HM, so I have used lots of time cooking at home.
