For me, Finnishness is deeply connected to nature and the quiet rhythm of life. Growing up, I spent countless days outdoors, whether picking berries in the forest or sitting by a lake that feels endless in the midnight sun. Those moments of calm, surrounded by water and trees, remind me of how important it is to slow down and appreciate simple things.
Winter shows another side of who we are. The cold doesn’t stop us—it shapes us. Whether it’s skiing, skating, or simply walking through snowy streets, winter sports bring people together. And of course, no Finnish winter is complete without the sauna. Stepping into the heat after hours in the snow feels almost magical, and it’s one of the traditions that truly ties generations together.
