When I think about finnishness, I see beautiful Finnish summer. Summer in Finland is a beautiful season that typically last from June to August. During this time the days are long, with the sun barely setting in the northern parts of the country, creating a phenomenon known as the Midnight Sun.
Summer is the season for the outdoor activities, as many Finns take advantage of the pleasant weather to enjoy nature. Popular activities are swimming in lakes, hiking in national parks, and spending time in summer cottages. Summer cottages, known as “mökki” are places where families gather to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the Finnish countryside. Summer cottage is my happy place. It’s place where I can be totally relaxed.
One of the most significant holidays is Midsummer, which is celebrated with bonfires, traditional foods, and gatherings with friends and family. Most Finns like to start their summer holidays at Midsummer. I think it is the best party of the year.
Overall, summer in Finland is a time of joy, connection with nature and cultural celebration. In my opinion it is the most happiest time in year.
