Forest symbolizes peace and distance.

Finns are known to like their own space which is why they often build/buy a house from private areas and what better for that then a forest.
Also swimming in lakes, going to sauna and dipping on ice (avantouinti) are very familiar and common activities for Finns. These activities can be done either alone or with friends/family.
