Finnishness; nature and safety

Finnishness means clean nature and safety to me.

-From nature, I love that we still have four seasons. I think the year starts with spring, even if that’s not strictly true, because January and February are probably the coldest winter months. Real spring begins in March, it’s amazing to feel the sun warming you for the first time and notice the days getting longer. Summer starts after mid-May, when the trees have leaves and the apple trees are in bloom. A controversial opinion is whether August is still a summer month or already autumn. I’m on team summer. Autumn begins in September when mornings get colder and evenings get darker, and you start seeing stars in the sky. Winter starts in mid-November. The trees have shed their leaves and it’s cold, wet and dark. But when the snow comes, everything changes — it becomes a winter wonderland!

In Finland, I feel safe. I don’t have to be afraid that someone will rob me in town or break into my house. Most people in Finland are honest, if they find a phone or wallet on the street, it is, in principle, supposed to be returned to its owner. Also, I can trust that things work as they are supposed to.

And finally, I have to mention that Finnish coffee is the best in the world.
