My Experiences of Finnishness

The strength of Winter is the solid ice

The Whiteness of Finnishness comes from the strength of quietness and darkness

My Finnishness experience begins with my arrival which was the heart of winter in Finland, my luggage got missing, it was very cold; I had no jacket, but I felt the warmth from the people who attended to me. Finland is quite calm in the winter and even though lakes are frozen, the people are gentle, quiet and lovely when you ask for help. During Winter, there is sauna usually about 4 times a week in most student apartment whereas public and family sauna is common. I learned the value of family recollection and evaluation in the gentle darkness of winter which is part of Finnish culture especially in December. The frozen lake and calm darkness teach me to be strong and smile like the whiteness of the snow in the mist of difficulty. In Finland nature is a vital energizer, secret and always welcoming no matter the period of the year.  We love nature, we love silent and we embraced the harsh winters with great love even when it is very cold.
