What makes Finland unique

Henna Sinkkonen

Finnishness is a unique blend of nature, traditions and values. In this post, I’ll tell you some of my favorite parts of Finnish culture, from the love of nature to the importance of the sauna.

Beautiful nature

Finns have a deep connection to nature. Finland are surrounded by forests and thousands of lakes. Finland is a country where the outdoors plays a huge role in everyday life. This love for nature is reflected in the concept of “Everyman’s Right,” which allows everyone to freely explore the countryside, pick berries, and enjoy the natural beauty.

Growing up in Finland, I spent a lot of time in the forests, whether hiking, picking berries and mushrooms, or just enjoying the peace and quiet. This connection to nature has always been a big part of my life, and it’s something that many Finns cherish deeply.

The sauna

The sauna is an essential part of Finnish culture. Almost every Finnish home has a sauna, and it’s a place where people go to relax and unwind. But it’s more than just a place to get warm; the sauna is a place of peace and where people come together.

For me, the sauna is a special place where I can relax and clear my mind. Whether alone or with friends, the sauna has always been a place of comfort and connection, something that feels uniquely Finnish.
