The event also offered students an opportunity to give feedback on their studies so far. Their insights will help enhance and strengthen the programme in the future. Overall, students were happy with the programme and have enjoyed their studies to date. Their first semester included courses in crisis management, international security, governance and resilience, security policy analysis, risk management, and environmental security.
Students were also interested in hearing about the option to include an internship as part of their studies, which can even be completed abroad. They also learned about the master’s thesis process, which is recommended to start at the beginning of the Spring semester of the first year. In addition to the supervision offered by the SAFER academic staff, Tampere University provides further support for both the thesis process and for finding internship placements.

Students have enjoyed international student life in Tampere and are excited to deepen their expertise in international security and security governance. Interested in joining them? Discover why Tampere University in Finland is an ideal place to study security governance and international security:
