Employee hiring & Renting a property

In our first group task, we as a team were assigned to focus on the topics :

Employee hiring and Property renting.

It felt natural to us to think of these topics from the standpoint of an event organizer. When organizing an event there usually aren’t that many pre-existing pieces. The project starts from a project manager and a small crew with specialized skills. Networking is an important skill to have in this team to be able to hire people and 3rd party operators to do certain tasks to make the big picture complete. For example if the event needs audio-visual technical job to be done, that usually is ordered from a 3rd party operator. The better the networking skills within the team, the better overall fit or resource-wise a smart option that 3rd party operator is going to be – bringing extra value to the event.

Employee hiring is a crucial part of this kind of a project. Hirings can be done in 2 different ways, either having a 3rd party company handle the hirings to your needs (for example a lot of big supermarket chains etc. use this method) or you can interview and hire the person yourself. For this event organizing example, the second option is quite obviously the best one where you can make sure that the person is filling your needs and matching your values.

Renting a public property has a few meanings. Renting an outside (most likely) city/providence owned property or renting a space or an apartment.

Inquiring about renting an area in Tampere, you can go to https://visittampere.fi/ammattilaiset/tapahtumapaikat/  and there’s a list of rentable areas and spaces for small or big events.

Rentable apartments can be found from multiple websites for example in www.venuu.fi

My personal take to this project is a quite positive one. I’m very excited about what the remaining of the fall is going to look like and I’m confident that this course is going to play a big part in us as a team and me as an individual making a lot of growth during this period.

Looking forward to the next blog post,

Stay tuned!
