In the evening, we discussed our individual home Christmas routines. We also exchanged our personal family traditions in Spain and Alijon told us how it is celebrated in Tajikistan during this time of the year. It was quite intriguing to observe how various cultures celebrate the same season totally differently in terms of food and habits down to meanings and rituals. We even had time to talk over our resolutions in the New Year and what we intend to do after the exchange with our countries.
It was my last time to meet with them, and it made me think of our achievements. Not only did we learn new words and phrases, but we also were not afraid of speaking about personal experience and backgrounds in English and even some little in Persian. Such an important surrounding should have been the end of the project because I learnt that language learning process does not simply involve the vocabulary but the connection, interest, and a realization of how other people live.
