We were discussing the way we refer and say sports in our languages, and we also shared information on the sporting activities that we do in our countries and how we did it as children. We also participated in playing fun games like hula hoop and the skip rope and we had a good time during the session and made the session very dynamic. The movement and the laughter together with the laughter were also directed to create good and encouraging learning environment.
After the reflection of this meeting, I believe that my Persian vocabulary and self-confidence developed. Movement combined with learning was beneficial to me in the process of remembering words and the process was quite interesting. I also observed that interactive and playful games can be used to keep attention and make the process of language practicing more memorable.
Also, the session provided me with information about cultural practices in sports, which I had not anticipated to be discussed. Reading about the popularity of sports in Tajikistan and comparing the two countries with Spain helped me to understand how the cultural context determines the way of life. Remembering all the new words during the exercises were also some of the challenges but the fun and interactive environment was able to overcome these challenges. All in all, this was a fruitful, amusing, and personal experience of a gathering that strengthened language proficiencies, as well as cultural knowledge.
