Oasis Room Meeting 07.11.2025

Oasis room

Our sixth meeting was held in Oasis Room inside the Tampere University which is a room with sofas that made it a very comfortable place to meet. Firstly, we started practicing colours and then we spoke about the weather. Andrea, Lucia, and I got to know how to say these words in Persian, and Alijon in Spanish. This helps us to develop vocabulary and enhancing pronunciation in an actual conversation.

Then we played a game to associate words and objects or features around us. We were talking about the blue sky, the white walls of the room, or other things in our environment. This was a more interactive way of learning, and we were able to memorize and learn to apply new words in context.

We also talked later about the way we do Christmas in our countries. It was interesting to share the variations between Christmas in Spain and in Tajikistan. I was made aware of the variety of cultural practices and the sharing of personal experiences related to holidays, food, and family practices made the conversation interesting and informative. When considering this experience, I believe that my vocabulary and pronunciation in Persian have improved, and I am certain to use new words in the conversation.

In addition, I observed is that interactive games such as the word-matching game are better than other learning activities and are more interactive. Hearing what Alijon went through made me think about the real life and the customs in Tajikistan and hearing me talk about my own culture I realized I could also re-evaluate my culture in new perspectives.

The difficulties involved some cases of forgetting the Persian words and applying them in the right context. We also changed our plan slightly by incorporating the game and discussion about the topic of Christmas, that was not initially planned but added to the session.
