9. Meeting – Chinese cooking goes into a second round!

Simple, but very tasty!

Kaili showed me how to prepare a simple but tasty dish: Fried potatoes, celery with tofu, egg with tomatoes and a pancake made from egg, flour and cabbage. The entire dish is served with rice and a delicious savory soybean paste. I don’t really like celery, but if you boil it first, then fry it and finally season it, it tastes much better. I’m glad I learnt this method of preparation. And I was also inspired by the cabbage pancake. I’ve never eaten cabbage this way before. While we were eating, Kaili explained to me that it is normal in China to have several plates with various dishes, and everyone takes and eats with their chopsticks as they please. It’s so great to have the opportunity to try ‘real’ Chinese food and I’m glad that we both share cooking as a hobby.
