Meeting 4: Poems and tongue-twisters

German tongue-twisters can be troublesome

Our fourth meeting was about poems and tongue-twisters. We started with the latter, and I tried my best at pronouncing this challenging sentence: Zehn zahme Ziegen zogen zehn Zentner Zucker zum Zoo.

We then continued with the poems, and I got many recommendations to check out some famous German poets. In general, I understood that poetry slams are quite popular in Germany. We also checked out a few poems and their vocabulary together and I learned some new words like:

fairy tale = das Märchen

waterfall = der Wasserfall

to cross = kreutzen

very loud = knatternd

It was a nice and inspiring evening! I continued to watch these recommended poets on YouTube later during the week.
