Emotions - Principles - Values

We met again and this time at Proakatemia. There was no food or special guests, we just had hot coffee at Proakatemia and a meaningful and thoughtful conversation.

We practice sending and receiving feedback like what we have been learning and doing at Proakatemia. Our theme is about principles and values. Happily we realize that there is a difference between having principles and having values. Principles are fixed and leave no room for context and humanity, mistakes and understanding but values emphasize the similarities between the two.

During the conversation, Melisha corrected me on how to use the words “too” and “so” in appropriate communication contexts. At the same time, she also learned Vietnamese words like “principles”, “values”, “emotional”, “humanity”, etc. At night, she also used the dictionary to translate a joke from English to Vietnamese and sent it to me. The content is: “being a student means you are like a car with a warranty, it is a type of insurance that protects you from an accident”.

Since this conversation, we understand each other better, trust each other more and our friendship is even stronger.
