Bonjour from Paris!

If you’re thinking about doing exchange studies, this is your sign to GO!

I had the best four months of my life in Paris this spring!

I’m a business administration student, and I’m on my 3rd year. I studied at IPAG Business School in their Beaugrenelle campus, near the Eiffel Tower.

As an exchange student, I got very welcoming feeling right from the start. All my classes were at campus, and I really enjoyed our professor’s interactive teaching methods.

I got to choose my courses from their course list, and I had the following courses:

  • Luxury Brand Management & Environment
  • Luxury: Innovation, Sustainable Development and Quality
  • Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility
  • French as a Foreign Language

Courses were very interesting and especially luxury related ones gave me more knowledge and understanding from that field. Language course gave me more courage to use French in my daily life.

When I compare my studies in Paris to my studies back home, I could mention that the biggest difference for me was the final exams. All the final exams had to be done by pen and paper style, no computers or other sources allowed. Otherwise, I’d say that the studying was quite the same than in Finland. We had group projects and individual assignments. We used Moodle as a studying platform, so it was very easy to get a hold on at the start of the studies.

I did a LOT in my spare time! I got lifelong friends from university, and we did so much together. For example, we visited landmarks, museums, parks, stores, flea markets etc. We also travelled to Belgium for few days and did little trips inside France.

We enjoyed having coffees and hot chocolates in cafés, croissants and pain au chocolates from boulangeries and bubble teas from bubble tea shops. I also went two concerts during my time in Paris, Sabrina Carpenter and Dua Lipa! They were amazing!

Everyone should visit Paris even once in their life! Bisous !
