Greetings From Japan

Postcard from Beppu

My exchange period started at the end of September in Japan. I decided to apply to Japan for an exchange because I have always admired and liked Japanese culture. My school is located in southern Japan in the Kyushu prefecture, in a city called Beppu. The name of the university is Ritsumeikan Asian Pacific University. Going to school in Japan is similar to Finland, but the teaching style is slightly different. Many courses focus on group work and the hours are longer than in Finland.

In my spare time, I spend a lot of time with my new exchange student friends. we often go out to eat and party when time permits. Karaoke is still very popular in Japan and it is practiced a lot.

I traveled a lot in Japan during the fall and winter holidays. We went with our friends to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Okinawa, and Fukuoka, which is near Beppu. Traveling consumed the most money, but I don’t regret it at all. Every experience in Japan, whether it was food or fun, was memorable. I really enjoyed the wintertime because the football World Cup tournament was then and people were in bars watching the game and the atmosphere was the best.

My exchange period is the best time of my life and I even found love in here, I would not change this experience for anything in the world.
