Greetings from Slovenia

maribor

An Idyll rounded by magnificent mountains and lovely people. That is how would I describe Maribor after the very moment I arrived there.

I had a student exchange in Maribor the second largest city in Slovenia and a great place for student community. There were good possibilities for meeting other students and University provided good facilities for freetime activities. Short distances and easy transportation enabled effortless everyday  performance. A wide supplement of different restaurants and cafes provided multiple options; didn’t have to settle for the moderate option. Except not the best place for vegan since not every restaurant had even a single option for vegan diet.

The nature around the city was magnificent and you could only walk 100 meters to gain a completely refreshing experience in nature. There were forests by the city and as you walk there it is like you are in the middle of untouched wilderness. The nature was so well taken care of.

The mindset of studying or working is not about performing with 110% effort as it is in modern countries but in Slovenia it is more like just to do your homework. When you’re done with all responsibilites you can take it easy, go for a coffee or take a walk in a near forest. That’s how you maintain a feeling of a good life
