I have now been in Spain to do my third and last mandatory internship for my Software Engineering degree for almost three months. Here is a little recap of what I have done here in Malaga and elsewhere in Spain during working days and days-off.
I’ve been working for a tourist company (a bit ironic here in Spain but yeah..) as a full-stack web developer. For non-developer folks: full-stack developers handle both the back-end (the engine) and the front-end (the look and feel) of the web-application, like working on both the inside and outside of a car for example. Working here has made my understanding more deep about developing, but there is still a lot of stuff that I wish was different. The company is not following the traditional developing practices and the IT-side of the company is generally quite bad in general. The company that I am working for runs almost completely with other Erasmus+ interns from around the World, so the skill level varies a lot. However, having a lot of interns from all around Europe has made the integration to a new country easier. Here are some pictures:

On my free time (weekends), I have done a lot of weekend-getaways to another cities here in Spain. Leaving to the destination on Friday evening and coming back on Sunday evening gives you plenty of time to explore the nearby cities. In addition the company I am working for arrange Pub Crawls here in Malaga everyday, and the interns get to attend for free.
Valencia

Nerja

Sierra Nevada Hiking

Plaza de Espana

Caminito Del Rey

In general the working culture does not differ that much from working in Finland. The offices here are a lot more plain and boring than the ones I have been to and seen in Finland. Usually also the working days here start later. For the company I am working for means about noon (12:00). Probably my experience here is not the most Spanish one, because the boss of the company is Italian, and the workers are mostly interns around Europe.
