My Finland
My visions of Finland (written 2.2.2025)
My visions of Finland (written 2.2.2025)
The quietness of Finns isn't something to be scared of.
The everlasting perseverance of the people from the land of a million trees and thousand lakes.
I grew up in southern Vietnam; the concept of winter was always a distant, almost mythical idea. We had only two seasons: dry and wet, both bathed in ample sunshine. Moving to Finland, therefore, was a plunge into an entirely different reality, a world of short days, long nights, and a kind of cold I had never truly experienced.
Spending my exchange semester in The Hague has been an exciting and rewarding experience, full of new learning, travelling, and great memories.
Nature, silence and traditions
This is a story of how I was healed by the nature in Finland
Northenlights and skiing in silence in a forest filled with snow, summers gushing with light and colours, rich culture with wide range of macro cultures, Second hand stores and politeness are a few things that comes to my mind immediately when thinking about Finnishness.
