To experience being finnish, one must go to sauna and feel the hot temperature and let your buttnaked mate hit you with an saunavihta. Harsh and cold winter makes person appriciate the quietness and beutifulness of finnish nature. Northern lights with -30c degree outside is one of the most heartwarming sight in the northern Finland.
I have lived in the northern part, in the “middle” part and now in the southern part of Finland, and I have come to a conclusion that Finnish people act the same nomatter where you go in Finland. Stereotypical finnish person is quiet, calm and kind. In my experience that is the truth.
For me Finnishness means the love of nature, stopping and enjoing the quietness around you and sauna. You can experience each one of those anywhere in Finland!
