Valmistaudumme joka toinen vuosi toteutettavaan Suomen Akatemian tiekarttahakuun (FIRI). Suomen Akatemian FIRI-rahoitushaku infrastruktuurien tiekartalle on keskeisin kansallinen infrastruktuurirahoitus. Tutkimusinfrastruktuureilla tarkoitetaan välineitä, laitteistoja, tietoverkkoja, tietokantoja ja aineistoja sekä palveluita, jotka mahdollistavat tutkimustyön, edistävät tutkimusyhteistyötä sekä vahvistavat tutkimus- ja innovaatiokapasiteettia ja osaamista. Tutkimusinfrastruktuurit voivat olla keskitettyjä, hajautettuja tai virtuaalisia kokonaisuuksia tai näiden yhdistelmiä. Euroopassa on monia suuria tutkimuksen infrastruktuureja, jotka ovat monikansallisessa käytössä. Tampereen yliopiston sisäisen aievaiheen ohjeistus on julkaistu 17.1.2024. Sisäisessä arvioinnissa käsitellään hankkeiden perustiedot sekä 2-3 sivun aiesuunnitelma liitteineen. Yliopiston päätökset hakuluvista ilmoitetaan aiesuunnitelmien lähettäjille arviolta 6.3.2024 mennessä.
ITC:n staff scientistit ovat mukana johtoryhmän kokouksessa esittelemässä ehdolla olevia hankkeita. ITC on pyrkinyt infrastukruurien pitkäjänteiseen kehittämiseen. Johtoryhmän tavoitteena on saada tuore kokonaiskuva tiedekunnan infrastruktuurien kehityksen tilanteesta sekä saada alustava kuva tiekarttahakuun mahdollisesti osallistuvista hakemuksista. Lisäksi johtoryhmä keskustelee ehdotuksista, jotta scientistit saavat eväitä aiehakemusten valmisteluun. TAU-tason aiehaku deadline on 19.2.2024.
Seuraavaksi keskustelussa ovat tiedekunnan TEK & MAL diplomityö, gradu- ja väitöskirjapalkintoehdotukset. Tekniikan akateemiset (TEK) jakaa yhdessä Tekniska Föreningen i Finland TFiFin jakavat vuosittain väitöskirjapalkinnon tunnustuksena kansainvälisen mittapuun mukaan korkeatasoisesta väitöskirjasta, joka on merkittävästi edistänyt tekniikan alan osaamista Suomessa. Palkinto on 7 500 euron arvoinen. Lisäksi he jakavat palkinnot tunnustuksena laadukkaasta diplomityöstä valmistuneelle diplomi-insinöörille tai arkkitehdille. Matemaattis-luonnontieteellisten alojen akateemiset MAL jakaa pro gradu -palkinnon vuosittain tunnustuksena laadukkaasta matematiikan, fysiikan tai tietojenkäsittelytieteen pro gradu -tutkielmasta. Palkinnolla kiinnitetään huomiota matematiikan, fysiikan ja tietojenkäsittelytieteen opiskeluun ja tuodaan esiin näiden tieteiden merkitystä suomalaisessa yhteiskunnassa.
Nyt valitaan tiedekunnan ehdotukset palkinnon ehdokkaista, lopullisen valinnan yliopsiton ehdokkaista tekevät Jarmo Takala ja Anu Juslin. Vieraiksi kutsuttu tekniikan alan TOVit: Matti Mäntysalo, Hannu-Matti Järvinen, Terhi Kilamo ja Simo Ali-Löytty.
Lisäksi johtoryhmän käsittelyssä on yhteiskunnallisen vuorovaikutuksen nostot tiedekunnan vuodesta 2023 yliopiston vuosikertomukseen. Vaikea valita muutamaan riviin kaikki laajassa tiedekunnassamme tehtävä YVV. Meillä on runsaasti mm. saavutettavuuteen, turvallisuuteen, energiantuotantoon, viestintään ja tekoälyyn liittyvää opetusta, yritysyhteistyötä ja yhteiskunnallisia palvelutehtäviä. Tiedekunnallamme ylipäätään tuottaa ymmärrystä ja ratkaisuja globaalin, digitalisoituneen sekä monikulttuurisen ja kestävää kehitystä eteenpäin vievän yhteiskunnan visaisiin ongelmiin. Mutta jokaisen yksikön päällikön on nyt tänään puristettava muutaman lauseen tiivitys oman yksikkönsä YVV:stä, josta Saara Asikainen muotoilee tiedekunnan esityksen yliopiston vuosikertomukseen.
- Tiedekuntaneuvostolle pyritään tuomaan jatkossa tilannetietoa tiedekunnan tilanteesta, talouskatsausten lisäksi esim. valmistuneiden tutkintojen määrät, uudet palkatut (vakituiset), onnistumiset rahoitushauissa
- Työelämäprofessorien käsittely Tampereen yliopistolla jatkossa: asiantuntijalausunnot ja yliopiston johtoryhmän käsittely
- Työajan kohdennuksen ja työsuunnitelmien järjestelmä vaihtuu – käyttöön SAP CATS -järjestelmä. Vanha SoleTM poistuu palveluntarjoajan toimesta.
- Dosentin arvo myönnetty Joanna Kedralle viestintätieteiden yksiköstä, alana Visual Literacy (visuaalinen lukutaito).
We are preparing for the Research Council of Finland´s road map search (FIRI), which takes place every other year. The Research Council´s FIRI funding application for the infrastructure roadmap is the most important national infrastructure funding. ”Research infrastructures mean tools, equipment, data networks, databases and materials as well as services that enable research work, promote research cooperation and strengthen research and innovation capacity and know-how. Research infrastructures can be centralized, decentralized or virtual entities or combinations of these. Europe has many large research infrastructures that are in multinational use.
News about changes to the 2024 application: Research Council of Finland to introduce changes in call for roadmap research infrastructures
The guidelines for the internal intention phase of the University of Tampere have been published on January 17, 2024. The internal evaluation deals with the basic information of the projects as well as the 2-3 page master plan with attachments. The university’s decisions on application permits will be notified to the senders of the plans of intent by approximately March 6, 2024.
ITC’s staff scientists are present at the management team meeting to present the nominated projects. ITC has strived for the long-term development of infrastructure. The goal of the management team is to get a fresh overall picture of the development of the faculty’s infrastructures and to get a preliminary picture of the applications that may participate in the roadmap search. In addition, the management team discusses the proposals so that the scientists get some ideas for the preparation of applications for proposals. The TAU-level subject search deadline is February 19, 2024.
Next in the discussion are the faculty’s TEK & MAL diploma thesis, degree and dissertation award proposals. The Technical Academics (TEK) together with Tekniska Föreningen i Finland TFiFin annually award a dissertation prize in recognition of a high-level dissertation by international standards that has significantly promoted knowledge in the field of technology in Finland. The prize is worth 7,500 euros. In addition, they give out awards in recognition of a high-quality diploma thesis to a graduate engineer or architect. The academic MAL in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences awards the master’s award annually in recognition of a high-quality master’s thesis in mathematics, physics or computer science. The award draws attention to the study of mathematics, physics and computer science and highlights the importance of these sciences in Finnish society.
Now the faculty’s proposals for the award candidates are selected, the final selection of the university’s candidates will be made by Jarmo Takala and Anu Juslin. Invited guests of TOV from the field of technology: Matti Mäntysalo, Hannu-Matti Järvinen, Terhi Kilamo and Simo Ali-Löytty.
