4. Lightshow

Our fourth meeting deviated from the initial plan as an enticing lightshow unfolded in Tampere, capturing the interest of all of us. Given the chilly weather, we opted to forgo the planned picnic in the park and immerse ourselves in the luminous spectacle.
This meeting, though shorter, was filled with awe as we were captivated by the mesmerizing lightshow. The cold weather prompted less conversation, but the spectacle itself provided a unique experience that left us all in wonder.
Before the lightshow commenced, we found a moment for a brief conversation, with the primary focus being “seasons in our countries.” It was intriguing to discover that in Vietnam, both sunrise and sunset consistently occur at the same time—a stark contrast to Germany, where the sunrise varies significantly between summer and winter.
Our dialogue also touched upon the cold weather in Finland, leading us to discuss the efficiency of public transportation. We collectively realized that Finland’s public transportation system surpassed that of our home countries.
For this meeting we chose the following vocabulary:
Englisch |German |Vietnamese |Japanese
Cold |Kalt, Lanh, 冷たい (Tsumetai)
Wet |Nass, Ướt, 湿っぽい (Nuresō)
Weather |Wetter, Thời tiết, 天気 (Tenki)
Train |Zug, Tàu lửa/xe lửa, 電車 (Densha)
Light |Licht, Ánh sáng/Đèn, 光 (Hikari)
