Today, the 16th of November, we went to Ikea. Katja needed a plate and I needed a mog. We thought it was a good opportunity to have lunch together at Ikea. We decided to first have lunch. Four of us chose meatballs we mashed potatoes and vegetables. I decided to take to smaller snacks, which I really loved!
During lunch we talked about different drinks of our country. In the Netherlands beer is really popular and we have a popular brand called Heineken. We found out Germany is and remains a country of beer drinkers. The most beers are brewed in Bavaria, the top five of beers from there is: Augustiner-Bräu, Hofbräuhaus, Paulaner, Erdinger, Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu. Anna learnt us: a typical Bavarian beer I s in the top-fermented wheat beer, brewed with wheat malt.
A big difference from the Netherlands is that Germans may drink wine and beer in public from the age of 16. But they can buy all the alcoholic drinks legally from the age of 18. In the Netherlands you can consume and buy drinks from 18 years old.
After our lunch we walked through Ikea to buy the stuff we needed. We talked a little more about the German lessons we just had.
