Meeting 9. Diversity of cities.

Today Zichen and I had a great chance to embark on a virtual trip to China, exploring the differences of the most famous Chinese cities.

We started our journey from the capital of China, Beijing, or the 5 dynasties’ capital. It Is one of the oldest cities in the world with a rich fascinating history. While Beijing reflects traditions and culture, the second largest city, Shanghai, is famous for its modesty, strong economy, trade and hectic lifestyle. As usual, my partner prepared a colorful and visual presentation about various cities and towns and their special features. She also introduced me to Hongkong (one of the ‘free port cities’ in the world), Dali (famous for the flowers, mushrooms, and slow and romantic lifestyle), Chengdu (Panda-bamboo town), Suzhou (Chinese heaven), and many other cities. We also discussed Xinjiang, a huge and picturesque city, famous for Tibet culture, hospitality, unique nature, and tasty food.

From my side, I decided to show Zichen a couple videos with the landscapes of the biggest cities in Russia, demonstrating diversity and a mixture of different cultures and traditions.

It was amazing to explore China from the pictures, so I  can’t wait to travel there and see all those places first-hand!
