Meeting 1: Ice hockey Game Tappara

On the 10th of September 2024, we visited the Tappara Ice hockey Game in the Nokia Arena. During the game (as an Ice Hockey Game takes mostly over 2 hours to watch!) we talked mostly about typical sports and icehockey in particular in Germany and the Netherlands as those are the two predominant countries of our group. We noticed also, that there are some differences between German and Finnish Icehockey even though its quite popular in both countries. On of them is that we think, that in Germany the atmosphere is better and the fans are more supporting of their team. In the Netherlands however soccer is really big instead of Ice hockey. In field-hockey however they sometimes do we some big games. All in all it was a very pleasant first meeting and introduction into Finnish sport culture!
