Spring has always fascinated me as a season of new beginnings, especially with flowers blooming and nature coming back to life. Yet, experiencing spring in Lyon felt particularly beautiful to me. The combination of the warmer weather, blooming flowers, and the city’s architecture made the season feel even more special.
Moving from Finland to Germany for my double-degree studies has given me another opportunity to experience life, education and culture from a new perspective. Although Finland and Germany are both European countries, studying and living in Germany has shown me that everyday habits, university culture and even the way people communicate can feel surprisingly different.
My exchange has been a once in a lifetime experience to live in a completely new culture on the other side of the planet. From getting to attend Ritsumeikan Asian Pacific University in Beppu, to traveling all across Japan, making great friends along the way. Japan has left me with so many memories I am losing track.
I spent six months in The Hague studying Business Administration. My exchange gave me the opportunity to experience studying and living in another country, meet new people from all around the world, learn new things and ways of living, and make amazing memories.
This summer, I had the opportunity to complete my practical training in Tallinn, Estonia. Estonia is not a new country to me, as I was born there and have visited Tallinn many times. However, spending the whole summer there for my internship gave me a different perspective, especially on working life.
Although Türkiye is a familiar place to me because of my Turkish background and my years living in Kayseri, my Erasmus+ internship at Erciyes University allowed me to experience the country from a completely different perspective: as a professional working in an international university environment.
I spent 2,5 months in Gent, Belgium doing a clinical placement for my studies. The experience was unforgettable and taught me a lot about myself as a person as well as a professional. I knew practically nothing about Belgium in advance, so the country surprised me in many ways, both good and not-so-good.
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend the summer of 2026 studying automotive engineering at Hochschule Esslingen in the beautiful and historic city of, you guessed it, Esslingen am Neckar.
