Old style lectures, and a lot of wateeer

Me

Munchen the biggest village of Germany as they say.

First of all I am very happy that I came. The initial stress of moving have ceased, and now I am safe and sound in my new environment. The first 21 days as with every habit was crucial. If you read my post, I recommend you to focus solely on yourself. How you want to do this year or semester to be? This is the main question to be asked, and then make your spare time and options accordingly.

I made a decision, that I want to focus on my studies, and I want to do an extraordinary thesis, beside continuing my Kung Fu journey.

The stillness of this picture shows what kind of environment I want to surround myself. And I managed. Going to lectures where teachers are really pushing us hard. If you have not read the homework, you are left out buddy. The demand from the teachers side is much bigger. Therefore learning in a stable and harmonious environment is important, and rewarding.

Dont give up

I have been resilient with my work, I have not given up as the tree have not neither. Somehow I find a lot of similar trees regularly. But I have not given up on my research proposal, what has been accepted a couple of days ago. I was extremely happy. Especially, when I realized, even a grant what I have applied to is going to sponsor my research. I was extremely happy and the tree is a good symbol not to give up, and endure, the school, the hard tasks, and the decisions what I (or you in your case) have choosen.

As you can see I love to hike, and this place is exactly the right place for it. Multiple lakes, trails are hiker friendly, and running in the forest is extremely satisfying. The weather until the end of october have been very generous. And now comes the rainy season.

This makes my life especially harder because we train outside on Kungfu, so I have to purchase quite new outfit to train in. I am really lucky that I have found a good master again.

It is interesting to see the difference in the education systems. Finland has a very inclusive school system. It aims to the weakest persons and therefore it was boring for someone so ambitious as me. In Germany the amount of homework is higher, still managable, but higher, and the teachers demand. If you cant make it sorry, come next year or put more effort. This was a very positive aspect.

Also the groups with whom we are working are usually European citizens. It is a bit weird to see how many third word country nationals in the Finnish education system. I have not met with similar numbers, however in Germany, where one of the highest is the % of immigrants in the country. The group is much more homogenic, compare to Finland, since we are almost all Europeans.

In Finland in my international degree course, communication was also a bit hard with people who have been admitted, however their language skills were abysmal in English, in Germany I see the criteria is much higher, therefore the Universities performing better, because the person who finishes them have more understanding and knowledge.

The team work is almost totally missing however from the degree program, I am welcoming this after 2 years of Finnish education, however I could see how the people finishing here would need to learn teamwork as a skill in the future.
