Finnishness

Let's take a blender and fill it with thousands of lakes, saunas, nature, and coffee, and then turn the blender on. I would say this cocktail is named Finland, but what is Finnishness really?

Finland truly is one of the most nature-rich countries. Additionally, the four seasons—winter, spring, summer, and autumn—are all unique in their own way. Taking a sauna in the summer and swimming in a lake is something you can’t do in many places. Sauna in the winter and jumping into cold water is super relaxing—although it doesn’t feel that great when you are in the water. Peace is really something you miss when you are abroad!

Each season in Finland offers its own unique experiences. Winter transforms the country into a winter wonderland, at least in Lapland, with glistening snow-covered landscapes perfect for skiing and ice skating. Spring brings the joy of witnessing the world come back to life as flowers bloom and trees regain their leaves. Summer is a time of endless daylight, making it ideal for outdoor activities like fishing, swimming and simply basking in the warmth of the midnight sun. Autumn paints the landscape in stunning hues of red, orange, and yellow, creating a picturesque backdrop for hikes and nature walks.

As a Finnish person traveling or living abroad, you’ll find that there’s something special about the peace and serenity of Finland that you’ll often long for. The clean air, the quiet forests, and the calming presence of lakes are all part of what makes Finland a haven for those seeking tranquility and a deep connection with nature.
