I think one of the main reasons why Finns are what they are, is the nature. The nature is quite unique and most of it is untouchable. There is a rule called ”everyman’s rights” which means you can pick berries, mushrooms and also put up a camp almost everywhere. That rule helps Finns to get out of their houses and make trips to the beautiful nature of Finland. There are quite many wilderness shelters which you can use freely. The main rule is to keep those places trashless. Everything you bring there, you have to bring it back home.
Finland has clear four seasons. Spring, the awakening of the nature and everything getting back alive. Usually that also includes Finns. Summer is usually quite warm. You can expect 20-25 celsius from mid June to the end of August. The Summer is the most waited season amongst Finns because it also means Sauna-season. Autumn is usually really dark and wet. Water resistant shoes are must. Autumn has its nice vibe to it and many Finns love it. It gives you an excuse to shelter yourself in home and make some good food and watch tv shows under a blanket. The Winter is cold and long. It usually lasts from November to March. First snow is really bipolar. Sometimes it starts snowing in November or you could have to wait until January. Finns love winter because we like winter sports. Skiing, ice hockey and ice skating are our favorite activities. Children love to build snowman and castles.
