What comes to my mind first when thinking of finnishness?

Nature

For most of my life, I have lived close to the sea. So water as well as nature are things that I really enjoy and thought of for this post since Finland is referred to sometimes as “The land of thousand lakes”. Nature is important to a lot of Finns. Going to the nature, whether that be a lake, a river or a forest, can be a relaxing experience and in my opinion it is something that we are and should be proud of. I went through my photo album and wanted to add some of the photos here.

Education

Another thing about finnishness that comes to mind is our education. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to study for over 14 years now for free. Not everyone in the world has that possibility and I feel that it’s important to not take it for granted.
