TEK ja TFiF ja MAL – palkinnonsaajaehdokkaiden ehdotukset johtoryhmään 11.1. mennessä.

Tekniikan Akateemisten Liitto TEK ja Tekniska Föreningen i Finland TFiF ovat jakaneet vuodesta 1999 lähtien väitöskirjapalkinnon erityisen ansiokkaan tekniikan alan väitöskirjan tekijälle kansainvälisesti arvioiden korkeatasoisesta työstä, joka on merkittävästi edistänyt tai jonka oletetaan edistävän tekniikan alan osaamista Suomessa. Palkinnon toivotaan kannustavan diplomi-insinöörejä ja arkkitehteja jatko-opintoihin ja kohottavan jatkotutkintojen arvostusta.

Matemaattis-luonnontieteellisten alojen akateemiset MAL (ent. Suomen Matemaatikko-, Fyysikko- ja Tietojenkäsittelytieteilijäliitto) jakaa vuosittain 5000 euron rahapalkinnon kunakin vuonna matematiikan, fysiikan tai tietojenkäsittelytieteen aloilta valmistuneesta ja tiedekunnan hyväksymästä Pro gradu -tutkielmasta. Palkinnon saajan ratkaisee MAL:n hallitus kyseessä olevia tieteenaloja edustavien tiedekuntien ehdotuksista ja palkintotoimikunnan esityksestä. Huomionosoituksen tarkoituksena on osaltaan toteuttaa MAL:n yhtä keskeistä toimintamuotoa: kannustaa ja edistää edustamiensa alojen opiskelua Suomessa kaikilla koulutustasoilla.

Proposals from TEK and TFiF and MAL award winners 11.1. by the management team.

Since 1999, the Finnish Association of Technology Academics TEK and Tekniska Föreningen i Finland TFiF have awarded the dissertation prize to the author of a particularly meritorious dissertation in the field of technology for internationally outstanding work that has significantly promoted or is expected to promote technology expertise in Finland. It is hoped that the award will encourage graduate engineers and architects to pursue postgraduate studies and raise the profile of postgraduate degrees.

Academic MALs in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences (formerly the Finnish Association of Mathematicians, Physicists and Computer Science) award an annual cash prize of EUR 5,000 each year for a Master’s thesis completed in the fields of mathematics, physics or computer science and approved by the faculty. The winner of the award is decided by the MAL Board on the basis of proposals from the faculties representing the disciplines in question and on the proposal of the award committee. The purpose of the recognition is to contribute to the implementation of one of the key activities of MAL: to encourage and promote the study of the fields it represents in Finland at all levels of education.

In the meeting held on 16th December 2020, the Board of Trustees of the Helsingin Sanomat Foundation awarded eight grants, in total 852,000 euros. One of them is Tenure Track Professor Leena Mikkola (& research group) project Development of scientific thinking during the academic studies in journalism, communication and media studies  https://www.hssaatio.fi/en/apurahat/development-of-scientific-thinking-during-the-academic-studies-in-journalism-communication-and-media-studies/
