Aloitimme johtoryhmän dosenttihakemuksilla, dosenttiasiat saavat johtoryhmässä aikaan runsaasti keskustelua dosentuureista yleensä. Varadekaani Hamarin kanta dosentuureihin on melko tiukka, hän näkee ne eräänlaisina kilpailijoina ”tenure track” -urapolulle. Keskustelu aiheesta jatkunee intohimoisena tulevaisuudessakin.
Toisena aiheena tälle maanantaille ovat FIRI2021 ja RAE2022.
Suomen Akatemian FIRI2021-rahoitushakuun osallistuminen on Tampereen yliopistossa kaksivaiheinen. Aiehakemukset toimitettiin 26.3. mennessä yliopiston tarkastettavaksi. Yliopisto tekee päätökset hyväksytyistä aiehakemuksista 15.4. mennessä. Varsinainen hakemus toimitetaan Suomen Akatemialle sähköisen hakujärjestelmän kautta 19.5.2021 mennessä. Tampereen yliopiston tutkimuksen ulkoisen arvioinnin TAU RAE2022 suunnitteluprosessia vetää Laura Himanen. Arviointia tulee johtamaan yliopiston ulkopuolisista tutkijoista koostuva ohjausryhmä. Tiedekunnalta pyydetään nyt nimiehdotuksia ohjausryhmän jäsenistä.
Kirsi Aalto esitteli vuosisuunnittelun aikataulutusta. Toiminnan suunnittelu 2022 -tilaisuudet 6.5. ja 21.5.2021.
Tulossa Azure Lab Services opetuksen työkaluna -esittely. Seppo Eerola tietohallinnosta on ottanut yhteyttä, he ovat tulossa esittelemään Azure Lab Services -palvelun (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/lab-services/) tarjoamia mahdollisuuksia. Jyrki Vuorinen ja Kati Iltanen ovat menossa tilaisuuteen, yksiköiden päälliköt pohtivat keitä muita pyydetään mukaan.

Dekaanin seuraavat zoom-kahvit ovat 29.4. klo 13, aiheena on tieteestä viestiminen. Tilaisuuden vetää apulaisprofessori Laura Ahva ja alustajina toimivat professorit Johanna Vaattovaara ja Pekka Isotalus, työelämäprofessori Matti Apunen ja tutkija Hernietta Jylhä. Dekaanin Zoom-kahvien toukokuun aiheeksi päätettiin julkaisut ja kesäkuun aiheeksi hyvinvointi.
Dean on Tour – aloitetaanko uusi kierros syksyllä ja millä teemalla. Tähän aiheeseen palataan ensi viikolla.
Koronan vuoksi ovat professoritapaaminen ja opettajatapaaminen jääneet järjestämättä, mutta mahdollisesti ensi syksylle.
Muistutus, syksyllä 20.-24.9. on hallinnollista kokouksista vapaa viikko.
Belliard kertoi, että innovaatioyksikkö voisi tulla pitämään tutkijoille räätälöityjä infotilaisuuksia, mutta missä yhteydessä ja millaisille kokoonpanoille niitä voisi järjestää? Asia jää pohdittavaksi.

We started the management group with docent applications, docent issues cause a lot of discussion in the management team about docentships in general. Vice Dean Hamari’s position on docentship is pretty tight, he sees them as a kind of competitor to the “tenure track” career path. The debate on the subject is likely to continue passionately in the future.
The next topics for this Monday are FIRI2021 and RAE2022.
For the authors of the applications (applicants) at Tampere University, the process has two steps:
1) Internal selection, deadline for letters of intent: March 26, 2021
2) Academy of Finland FIRI Funding Call, deadline May 19, 2021, at 16:15
Once the university has granted the permit to apply, the final FIRI funding application will be prepared and sent in the electronic application system (SARA) of the Academy of Finland in accordance with the funding call text guidelines by 19 May 2021 at 16:15.

The planning process for the TAU RAE2022 external evaluation of the University of Tampere’s research is led by Laura Himanen. The evaluation will be led by a steering group of researchers from outside the university. The faculty is now being asked for name proposals for the members of the steering group.
Kirsi Aalto presented the annual planning schedule. Operational planning 2022 events 6.5. and 21.5.2021.
An introduction to Azure Lab Services as a teaching tool is coming. Seppo Eerola from IT has contacted them and they are coming to introduce Azure Lab Services ( https: // azure. microsoft.com/en-us/services/lab-services/ ). Jyrki Vuorinen and Kati Iltanen are going to the event, the heads of the units are considering who others are being invited to join.
14.4. the morning coffee at the management group will focus on faculty events.
Dean’s next zoom coffees are 29.4. at 1 p.m., the topic is communicating science. The event will be hosted by Assistant Professor, academy research fellow Laura Ahva. The event will be carried out as an FISHBOWL-discussion. The interesting topics attached will be introduced by Professor Johanna Vaattovaara, Professor of Practice Matti Apunen, Professor Pekka Isotalus and doctoral researcher Henrietta Jylhä. After short opening speeches the floor is open for further speeches, discussion and questions. Simultaneous interpretation between Finnish and English will be provided . We hope a lot of participants and a rich discussion on the topics. An invitation to zoom coffee by email will leave on Tuesday, April 13th.
The Dean’s Zoom coffee was chosen as the May topic for publications and the June topic as well-being.

Due to Covid19, the professor meeting and the teacher meeting have not been arranged, but possibly next autumn.
