Getting to Know Each Other and Setting the Foundation

As our inaugural meeting unfolded, a sense of unfamiliarity lingered among us. To bridge this gap, we initiated the session with a round of self-introductions, allowing everyone to share a bit about themselves.

The central aim of this initial gathering was to familiarize ourselves with the individuals who would guide us in subsequent meetings. In the course of our discussions, we collaboratively devised a preliminary plan. During this planning phase, it became evident that Kotaro and Simon were primarily focused on enhancing their English proficiency, while Ho Khoa and I expressed a keen interest in delving deeper into cultural aspects.

Recognizing the challenge of grasping cultural nuances, we decided to incorporate a unique element into our meetings. To address this, we committed to learning at least five new vocabulary words in each language at every session. This undertaking is particularly daunting given the stark differences between our respective languages.
