7th Meeting (Thai & Finnish) - Numbers in Finnish

Yks, kaks, kolme!

The seventh meeting occurs while we are on the way to the PoBS cruise . Cecilia taught us how to count from 1 to 10 in finnish as it should be very useful while living in Finland.

  • 1 = yksi (yks)
  • 2 = kaksi (kaks)
  • 3 = kolme
  • 4 = neljä
  • 5 = viisi (viis)
  • 6 = kuusi (kuus)
  • 7 = seitsemän (seittemän)
  • 8 = kahdeksan (kaheksan)
  • 9 = yhdeksän (yheksän)
  • 10 = kymmenen

In the bracket are the shorter versions (or the easier-to-pronounce versions) since some official words are quite long.

In real life, I found this very useful in many situations such as at the cashier or at the railway station. Knowing these words helps me have a lot more clue of what finnish people are saying.
