Hello there and greetings from Greece, Thessaloniki <3

Before starting my Erasmus adventure to Greece, I held high expectations and I was so scared, but I can proudly declare that those expectations were not only met but exceeded beyond imagination. Living in Thessaloniki for this semester has been nothing short of a dream <3

Greece, with its rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality, has captured my heart. The allure of this country goes beyond the picturesque views; it resides in the vibrant culture and the genuine kindness of its people. I find myself enchanted by the ancient ruins, the crystal-clear waters  and the lively spirit that permeates everyday life in Thessaloniki.

From the onset of my Erasmus journey, Thessaloniki embraced me with open arms, making me feel like I’ve found a second home. Also the greek people are so warmhearted and polite.. Whether it’s the start of the week or a lazy Sunday, the city celebrates the joy of life with infectious enthusiasm. The Greek philosophy of taking life at a relaxed pace has become a valuable lesson for me. The concept of time takes on a new meaning here, and I’ve learned to savor each moment without unnecessary stress.

Living in a country with such a rich tapestry of possibilities has broadened my horizons. Greece has become more than a destination; it’s a place I can envision as a long-term home. The experiences I’ve gained, the friends I’ve made, and the cultural immersion have been nothing short of transformative. My international friend circle has become a source of support and joy, and I’m grateful for the connections that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

Sharing this exchange with other international students has been a unique and enlightening experience. The fusion of different cultures has given me a broader perspective on the world.  Exploring Greece with my friends, whether on road trips to ancient sites, lazy days on the beach, or enjoying traditional Greek dinners, has added layers of joy to my stay here.

The weather, with its abundance of sunny days, mirrors the warmth of the people. Studying in Greece has been a fulfilling experience, with academic institutions fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. I’ve delved into subjects related to my field of study, gaining insights that will undoubtedly shape my future.

In conclusion, my time in Greece has been nothing short of extraordinary. The memories created here will forever be etched in my heart. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the people who have made my Erasmus journey an unparalleled adventure. Without hesitation, I recommend Thessaloniki as an Erasmus destination, a city alive with history, culture, and an undeniable zest for life. If the opportunity arises for you to embark on an Erasmus journey, seize it — the indescribable experience is worth every precious moment. (I didn’t even know this before, but I heard that Thessaloniki was ranked to the best city to have an exchange last year) 🙂

ευχαριστώ,

 Tilda
