Na zdraví

Life here has been lovely. I’ve met lot of nice people for all around the world. I’ve also made some local friends from Czech Repubilc, which i am verry happy. Summer arrived early, and I have been enjoying it in the city and in the forest. I am happu nI have had many opportunities to see forest and nature in Czech Republic. Right now, I am spending my time in north of Czechia, next to the Krkonose mountains.

University life
Our school campus in University of Life Sciences is huge and there is lot of different faculties. It took a little while to get to know where to go and how to find classes, but in the end I started to get comfortable with it. Buildings are not the nicest, but they worked well and outdoor space was very beautiful. Also out University makes it own food, beer and, milk products and bakery products, so it has been super nice to support local food production while going to school. Teachers are very friendly and everything has been nice!

Spare time
I have been traveling, and doing different kind of sports. Also I just love wonder around the city by feet. I have been walking more than ever before because it is just the best way to discover different parts of Prague. It’s good to get lost sometimes! You can always find something beautiful.

Differences between our culture
I can see lot of similarity between Czech and Finnish people. Everyone needs their own space, and people enjoy small things. Sport is important, but also food culture and of course beer. Biggest difference must be in the food culture. Czech traditional food includes usually lot of meet and dumblings – and nothing green beside the meal. That is something what I am missing from Finland. To have some salad next to main meal!
Czech people loves to move in the nature, and so do we. Also many people like to collect blueberries in the summer time, and mushrooms in the autumn – where I can find huge similarity between us. I appreciate their adventurous life style. Anywhere I have been traveling, I always meet some people from Czech Republic.

Old forest

Now is time to come back to Finland, but I would say I will return! I want to discover more places in this country. <3

Na zdraví! – Rebecca
