My year was filled with incredible opportunities, amazing experiences and lots of learning. As an exchange student I got to cherry-pick my courses, so I chose courses that focused on popular music production and performing. The studies in the UK are a balanced mix of lecturing, hands-on practice in seminars and individual assignments. I found the assignments more challenging than I expected – but they definitely helped me to improve my music production and writing skills.

Although our schedule wasn’t too tight, I still probably spent the majority of my time at the campus, making the most of the studio facilities. When I wasn’t rehearsing, writing or producing, I spent my free time exploring the city with friends and family that came to visit me. I tried local foods such as jacket potatoes, visited some of the oldest buildings of the city, went to events, and sometimes travelled to other cities in the UK, such as Liverpool and London.
