Finnishness

Being Finnish can mean many different things. Like in every culture it varies from people to people but the stereotype is that we are very self-aware and respectful towards personal space, often to the point of making ourselves seem cold and difficult to approach – which in most cases is only how It seems from the outside. It can be said that interacting with strangers is out of our comfort zone as Finnish people can be private and often keep to themselves rather than making their way to get to know new people. This usually does change once the barrier is broken and you take the time to get to know them. Finns usually turn out to be genuine, warm and friendly people who appreciate good manners, straight-forwardness and honesty.
