Aloitimme maanantaina 7.12. katsauksella tulosneuvotteluasioihin ja -materiaaleihin.
Toisena aiheena oli jo aiemmin syksyllä esillä ollut kysymys yliopiston sisäisistä dosenttihakemuksista. Silloin asia päätettiin viedä tiedekuntaneuvoston käsiteltäväksi. Sisäiset dosentit -keskustelussa tiedekuntaneuvosto näki tarvetta myöntää (erityistapauksissa) myös oman yliopiston hakijoille. ”Dosentin arvo voidaan myöntää oman yliopiston hakijalle erityistä syistä ja perusteista.”

Keskiviikkona 9.11. kävimme läpi rekrytointien aikataulutusta vuodelle 2021.
Perjantain 11.12.2020 aamukahvilla Kati Iltanen muistutti, että tohtoriohjelmavastaavien haku päättyy 18.12.2020. Paikat ovat auki sisäisessä haussa ja löytyvät intrasta avoimet tehtävät -sivulta.
- Vuorovaikutteisen teknologian tohtoriohjelman (DPIT) tohtoriohjelmavastaavan tehtävä
- Viestinnän, median ja teatterin tohtoriohjelman (DPCMT) tohtoriohjelmavastaavan tehtävä
- Tieto- ja sähkötekniikan tohtoriohjelman (DPCEE) tohtoriohjelmavastaavan tehtävä
Tohtoriohjelmien ohjausryhmien jäsenten haku pitäisi myös avata.
On noussut esiin syvää turhautumista TUNICris-järjestelmän kanssa. Automatisointi ei kaikin osin toimi ja tutkijat joutuvat käyttämään kallisarvoista aikaansa täyttämällä käsin järjestelmään julkaisujaan. Dekaani Vuorinen ehdotti yhteistä palaveria kirjaston kanssa siitä missä vaiheessa automatisointi on ja miten se etenee.
Viikon rahoitusuutisia. Suomen Akatemia julkaisi 8.12. kehitys- ja innovaatiotoiminnan kumppanuusverkostojen erityisrahoituksen haun tulokset. Olemme mukana kansallisessa Smart Campus TKI -verkostossa, joka on jatke Smart Campus -verkostolle, siinä vaikuttavat samat yliopistot ja ammattikorkeakoulut. Rahoitusta saanutta projektia johtaa liiketoiminnan kehittämispäällikkö Jouko Uusitalo Oulun yliopistosta. Seitsemästä partnerista yksi on vuorovaikutteisen teknologian professori Markku Turunen Tampereen yliopistosta. Muut partnerit ovat Oulun, Turun, Kajaanin ja Kaakkois-Suomen ammattikorkeakoulut, Centria-ammattikorkeakoulu ja Lappeenrannan-Lahden teknillinen yliopisto.
Suomen Akatemian kansallisten tutkimusinfrastruktuurien tiekartalle 2021-2024 on valittu 29 korkeatasoista infrastruktuuria. Tähtäin on TKI-järjestelmän pitkäjänteisessä kehittämisessä FIRI2020
Mukana on tiekartassa on Research Infrastructure for Future Wireless Communication Networks (FUWIRI).
FUWIRI on kansallinen korkean vaikuttavuuden tutkimus-, innovaatio- ja yhteistyöalusta langattomien teknologioiden alueella.
FUWIRI on Oulun Yliopiston, Tampereen yliopiston, Aalto-yliopiston ja VTTn konsortio. FUWIRI kytkeytyy tiiviisti 6G lippulaivaohjelmaan ollen sen kokeellinen tutkimusinfrastruktuuri. Tutkimusinfrastruktuuri mahdollistaa uusien laiteratkaisujen, algorimien, ohjelmistojen ja sovellusten tutkimisen, kehittämisen ja testaamisen. Alustalla kehitetään myös alle cm-tarkkuuteen pystyviä radiopaikannusmenetelmiä sekä niihin liittyviä radiotaajuisia kuvantamis- ja sensorointimenetelmiä.
Tiekartta on luettelo Suomen TKI-toiminnalle strategisesti merkittävistä, seuraavien 10-15 vuoden aikana tarvittavista tutkimusinfrastruktuuripalveluista. Tiekartan pohjalta avattavissa FIRI-rahoitushauissa suurin osa rahoituksesta varataan tiekartan tutkimusinfrastruktuureille. Seuraava FIRI-rahoitushaku avataan keväällä 2021.

We started on Monday 7.12. an overview of performance negotiation issues and materials.
Another topic was the issue of the university’s internal docent search, which had already been discussed earlier in the autumn. It was then decided to refer the matter to the Faculty Council. In the discussion of internal docents, the faculty council saw the need to grant (in special cases) also to applicants from their own university. The value of docent may be awarded to an applicant from your own university for special reasons.

On Wednesday, we went through the recruitment scheduling for 2021.
On Friday morning, December 11, 2020, Kati Iltanen reminded that the search for doctoral program managers ends on December 18, 2020. The search for members of doctoral program steering groups should also be opened.
There has been deep frustration with the TUNICris system. Automation doesn’t work in all respects and researchers have to spend their precious time filling out their publications manually into the system. Dean Vuorinen suggested a joint meeting with the library on what stage automation is at and how it is progressing.
The Academy of Finland published on 8 December the results of the search for specific funding for development and innovation partnership networks. We are involved in the national Smart Campus RDI network, which is an extension of the Smart Campus network, influenced by the same universities and polytechnics. The funded project is led by Jouko Uusitalo, Business Development Manager at the University of Oulu. One of the seven partners is Markku Turunen, Professor of Interactive Technology at the University of Tampere. Other partners are the polytechnics of Oulu, Turku, Kajaani and South-East Finland, Centria University of Applied Sciences and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology.
29 high-level infrastructures have been selected for the Academy of Finland’s national research infrastructures roadmap 2021-2024. The aim is the RDI system’s long-term development of FIRI2020
Included in the roadmap is Research Infrastructure for Future Wireless Communication Networks (FUWIRI).
FUWIRI is a nation-wide high-impact research, innovation and collaboration infrastructure in the area of future wireless technologies, jointly hosted by University of Oulu, Tampere University, Aalto University and VTT, while being tightly connected also to the 6G Flagship. The infrastructure facilitates experimental research related to the future radio and computer network technologies and applications, including research and innovation activities for developing new hardware, algorithms, software and applications. Also radio-based positioning and radio-based sensing solutions are associated technology developments that are strongly present.
The roadmap is a list of research infrastructure services that are strategically important for Finnish RDI activities and will be needed over the next 10-15 years. Most of the funding in FIRI calls to be opened based on the roadmap will be earmarked for roadmap research infrastructures.
