Last Friday, 10 November, was a special day as I had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with Katja. As language learning exchange, this time she taught me German.
In the morning, we met at HUBS and Katja patiently taught me German. It was a wonderful experience, filled with laughter and the excitement of learning something new. I tried my best to remember different words. Also, I was amazed at her ability to explain the intricacies of the language with such clarity.
We started with basic numbers. It was both challenging and rewarding. Katja was not only a language tutor but also a cultural guide, sharing stories that added depth to my understanding of German.
As we practiced, I realized that language is not just a set of words; it’s a gateway to a new world. I could feel the richness of German culture and history unfolding with each new phrase I learned. The language came alive, and I could see how it shaped the way people express themselves.
As the meetign came to an end, I found myself grateful for the opportunity to learn a new language and to have a friend who is so willing to share her culture with me. This experience has not only expanded my linguistic abilities but also opened my eyes to the beauty of cultural exchange.
