Finnishness

What is Finnishness

Finnishness to me is working hard and being very modest. The hard working part is so incorporated in our culture that we even have a word for it (sisu). I think sisu is a very describing word for Finnish people. Also Finns are very modest usually, so we are bad at taking compliments and being proud of what we have achieved.

Even though we are very modest, there is one thing that probably every Finn is proud of. That thing is the Finnish nature which can be breathtaking and it’s not easy to find a place in Finland where the nature isn’t easily accessible. Also very descriptive of the Finns is that we don’t like to talk to strangers, UNLESS we are drunk.
