Finnishness

This is a post about my perception of Finnishness.

What I enjoy the most about being a Finn is that I can get to nature by walking few hundred meters from home. It is so big privilidge what I am so grateful for. I didn’t appreciate the nature as younger that much than what I do now. As an youngster I prefered more stimulating things like computers and videogames that got me going, but after a while I got more intrigued by the blissfullness feeling from lakes, sea, nature and sauna.

I feel safe in Finland and I get support here when I need it. Having support feeling comes from having a right to choose my own path in career and not having a huge student loan to pay out. Also I can choose after my education to do something whole different if that is my calling. Of course the social support gives a clear mind knowing that I can get by even if I lose my job.

People here respect others personal space which has been great for me as younger when I prefered being alone and doing my own stuff. Nowadays I like to be fully present and I may speak to whome ever is sitting next to me, but with the intent for the conversation to be a pleasure for each one. But don’t worry I won’t bring small talk to elevators…

Finnland is an amazing place to live. Thank you for reading.
