Greetings from New York My Internship at Finland’s UN Mission Greetings from New York! I am spending my training exchange at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations. My time here combines practical work in an international environment with the opportunity to explore a city very different from my hometown, Rovaniemi.
I spent my double degree studies at HM Hochschule München, doing my Bachelor's in International Management in Munich. In this postcard I'll tell you what studying there was like, what I did outside of school, and how German student life compares to Finland.
Spring semester 2026 in Taylor's University
Spring has always fascinated me as a season of new beginnings, especially with flowers blooming and nature coming back to life. Yet, experiencing spring in Lyon felt particularly beautiful to me. The combination of the warmer weather, blooming flowers, and the city’s architecture made the season feel even more special.
Moving from Finland to Germany for my double-degree studies has given me another opportunity to experience life, education and culture from a new perspective. Although Finland and Germany are both European countries, studying and living in Germany has shown me that everyday habits, university culture and even the way people communicate can feel surprisingly different.
I spent six months in The Hague studying Business Administration. My exchange gave me the opportunity to experience studying and living in another country, meet new people from all around the world, learn new things and ways of living, and make amazing memories.
This summer, I had the opportunity to complete my practical training in Tallinn, Estonia. Estonia is not a new country to me, as I was born there and have visited Tallinn many times. However, spending the whole summer there for my internship gave me a different perspective, especially on working life.
Although Türkiye is a familiar place to me because of my Turkish background and my years living in Kayseri, my Erasmus+ internship at Erciyes University allowed me to experience the country from a completely different perspective: as a professional working in an international university environment.
I spent the spring semester of 2026 on an exchange in Barcelona, and I am grateful that I decided to make it part of my studies at TAMK, where I study Entrepreneurship and Team Leadership. Living abroad, studying in a different environment in English, meeting countless new people, having new experiences, enjoying my youth, opening my eyes to the international world, and learning about myself on a whole different level taught me so much. It will always be a heartwarming experience that I will carry with me. I can recommend going on an exchange.
During the summer of 2026, I did three months of practical training in Split, Croatia. I choose to use an opportunity and do an internship in my home country as it would enable me to see family and friends as well as to progress in my studies. I am grateful for this summer and the training I had as it was fun, dynamic, educational and most importantly, it gave me a sense of direction for the future.
Slovenia may be one of Europe's smallest countries, but Maribor proved that good things truly do come in small packages.
