Computing Sciences at the annual SEFI conference

The teachers and researchers from CS attended SEFI 2021 conference “Blended Learning in Engineering Education: challenging, enlightening – and lasting?” held remotely due to the covid pandemic. Four papers from Computing Sciences were presented covering topics from ethics, learning path visualization, automatic grading and educating web developers - a strong representation of several aspects of computing education.

ICWE’20 Successfully Completed

June 9-12, 2020 was exciting times for Aalto University, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University, and University of Helsinki. We jointly hosted the 20th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE’20, https://icwe2020.webengineering.org/). The conference is one of the key events for the Web Engineering community, and this year it included one day of workshops, tutorials, and PhD symposium, followed by three days of the main event.

C++ on ohjelmointikielenä säilyttänyt asemansa 4 suosituimman ohjelmointikielen joukossa. Olen päässyt parin viime vuoden aikana seuraamaan läheltä, millaista on suuren ohjelmointikielen standardointiprosessi, mihin suuntaan C++ on kehittymässä ja mikä kehitystä ohjaa.

Tampere University techies featured at the Robot Uprising Hackathon

On October 11-13th, our three-women UTA Tech Girls team (currently enrolled in the HTI Master’s programme) participated in Robot Uprising, the biggest robotics hackathon in Europe. And guess what, we were awarded as the track winners of the Future Visions track! On this post, we share our experiences of the hackathon and details about the system we designed and pitched to the judges.
