Robo Carnival is an annual public event at Paidia, Nokia Areena. In this event, the TAU User Experience in Robotics course students present their project work that has been conducted during the course in small teams. In addition, the last hour is dedicated for students’ demos, i.e. there is a chance for the audience to experience, what the teams programmed and designed for the robots in the course. This year, the theme of the course was “Designing with young people”, and we had highschool students and 8th grade students from Pirkanmaa schools to participate in co-design workshops facilitated by university student in the beginning of the course. Our students got lots of great input and inspiration from these sessions with young people, and some if the ideas were concretely visible on the final outcomes. In Robo Carnival, we were happy to have again young people as audience and visitors, because two high school classes joined the event! The atmosphere and spirit was fantastic, as usually.
Thanks all course students and assistants for your motivation, discipline, team spirit and great attitude throughout the course! Many thanks for visiting school classes – your input has been very valuable for our projects! CU next year again 🙂
Cheers, Aino, the responsible teacher of UXRO course
