Last Meet-Up

As Christoph was leaving Finland in the week before Christmas, we decided to have a small farewell evening on the Monday before.

One evening, Christoph reserved the sauna in his building and invited us over.

Christmas Market

As part of our Each One Teach One activities, we visited the Christmas market in Tampere to get a closer look at Finnish Christmas traditions. During the visit, we also talked about how Christmas markets and traditions differ in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Finland.

Night walk in the snow

On the evening of December 14th, we decided to go for a walk in the snow. It had been snowing throughout the day, and by the time we went outside, the streets were covered with a thick layer of snow. The city was unusually quiet, and there were only a few people around

Hockey Evening in Tampere

One evening, I went with Laura and Christoph to watch a hockey game in Tampere. The home team was Ilves, playing against another team whose name I unfortunately don’t remember — I’m not a big hockey fan, so I focused less on the teams and more on the experience itself.

Second-Hand Shopping Tour

For our next meeting, we went second-hand shopping in Tampere. It was a fun way to practice languages while talking about clothes, culture and so on!

Cooking together – a german dish

For this Each One Teach One meeting, we decided to combine language learning with cooking. Christoph invited us for a traditional German dinner — Schnitzel with potatoes.
