Codeveloping learner-centered technical teacher education in Rwanda

In March 2026, experts from Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) facilitated a pedagogical workshop for administrative, quality assurance and teaching staff of Rwanda Polytechnic’s Rwanda TVET Teacher Training Institute (RTTI) in Kigali. The workshop was organised as part of the HEP-TED project (Higher Education Pedagogies for Teacher Education), a collaboration between Finnish and Rwandan higher education institutions that aims to strengthen teacher education and pedagogical capacity in Rwanda.

Pizza and Pitching: TAMK–YRGO students Kicked off cross media Collaboration

YRGO–TAMK | 10 March 2026 Today marked an exciting milestone for the AV Growth cross border pilot as more than thirty higher education students from TAMK’s Games Academy and YRGO’s TV and Film Production programme came together for the first hybrid session of our film to game collaboration pilot. With students joining both online and on site (pizza boxes included at TAMK) the atmosphere matched the project’s core aim: creative exchange across disciplines, borders, and most importantly, media formats.

Creative Futures: UWS and TAMK

The work trip to Scotland came together quickly for us last spring. A student from the University of West Scotland’s music technology program first participated at their own expense in the co-writing week in Belgium, and then also joined TAMK’s Music Production co-writing week. They shared their experience, and by late spring Janne and Allan organized a visit to the university campus in the small town of Ayr on the west coast. Allan Dumbreck is a Deputy programme leader UWS BA (Hons) Commercial music which includes music technology and production. Allan has also worked as a session musician and spend over 30 years in music education.

Connecting and re-connecting with colleagues in Europe

Further build the existing networks and strengthen them. That was the idea when I applied to Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Mobility. International projects are such that give you not only lessons to learn together but also form strong connections between people. Based on the experiences gained in TeamWe – project (2019–2022) and hosting visits to Basque VET teachers in Finland, I thought that maybe it was a right time to visit Basque country again. Not only to meet the dear colleagues there but to establish something we could work together in the future.

The magic of collaboration and culture – REAVES partners united in the IBSR Programme Conference 2025

The 2025 Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference brought together a vibrant community of innovators, policymakers, and regional changemakers under the theme of transnational cooperation. Held as a physical meeting in the beautiful setting of the Tampere hall, the event on the 21st of May 2025 was a powerful reminder of the magic that happens when borders blur and collaboration is the centrefold.
