Recognizing the need for skilled professionals in risk management and circular economy, TAMK started this diploma programme with Indian local partner, which designed to cater to the requirements of Indian students, equipping them with the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in the evolving business landscape.
Pauliina Mansikkamäki, Senior Lecturer from School of Built Environment and Bioeconomy is coordinating the diploma programme. The programme, spanning 60 ECTS credits and a duration of one year, provides students with a comprehensive understanding of risk management and circular economy principles. The key professional courses include circular economy value chains and consumer engagement, company financial management, development of circular economy business, innovation pipeline of circular economy products and services, sustainability measuring and life cycle assessment (LCA) etc.
The programme also includes the courses such as Finnish language and introduction to Finnish industry and working life, which will help the students to integrate into the Finnish working life better.
TAMK admitted 34 students in this programme. The students are from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspective and experiences to the programme.
The programme started with orientation weeks in early September 2023. The orientation programme encompasses practical aspects that help students settle into Tampere. It introduces students to TAMK’s learning environment, enabling them to adapt quickly, and offering cultural events, including traditional Finnish activities like mushroom picking, foster a sense of belonging and cultural exchange.
TAMK is not only offering the cutting-edge studies in the field with innovative pedagogics, but also a strong connection with working life that helps the students in their future careers. As these graduates venture into the world, they will carry with them the knowledge, passion, and determination needed to drive sustainable practices and make a positive impact on the circular economy landscape, both in India and globally.
