Safety Belongs to Everyone – New Safety and Security Team at TAMK

TAMK’s Safety and Security team supports the university community in conducting research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities in a safe and confidential environment. The team’s work is a key part of TAMK’s strategy, which highlights TAMK’s expertise as a multidisciplinary university of applied sciences.

What Does the Team Do?

The Safety and Security team promotes safety in many ways. The team’s themes and identified RDI projects at TAMK align with Finland’s national comprehensive security framework:

Mental resilience
Leadership
International and EU cooperation
Defense capability
Internal security
Economy, infrastructure, and security of supply
Population resilience and services

At the heart of comprehensive security is the human being. The team provides tips, models, and training to strengthen the safety culture at TAMK.

Multidisciplinary Expertise

The team includes experts from all TAMK competence units, such as industrial engineering, social and health care, and applied research. This multidisciplinary approach enables a holistic view of safety and security.

Collaboration and Networks

The Safety and Security team actively participates in various networks both nationally and internationally. Collaboration with other universities, companies, and authorities brings new perspectives and strengthens TAMK’s role as a developer of safety – now and in the future.

What kind of role does emotional intelligence play in leadership? Emotional intelligence is an essential feature of a good leader, as it helps the leader to understand the emotions of others and his/her own emotions, which improves the overall well-being, communication and leads to a better decision-making.

Let's not leave anyone alone

Do you have a lot of friends? If so, great, you're in a lucky position. Do you have so many friends that you don't feel you need any more? If you answered yes, then stop for a moment to think. People who do not experience loneliness have the greatest responsibility to make lonely people feel less lonely. Making friends is not easy for everyone. Let's try to do what we can together so that no one is left alone.
